Through the years, Azetta worked on the Higher Education Committee, the Children’s Ministry, as a Sunday School instructor and with the Trustee Board. Mrs. White invited Azetta to work with the sewing circle which rekindled her desire to start quilting.
Azetta began sewing when she was young and attended Tuskegee Institute as a Clothing and Related Arts major. In later years, Azetta found herself in the School of Education where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and two sons later earned a Master’s degree. Azetta’s teaching career began in Tuskegee at St. Joseph Catholic school with second graders and then in Austin, Texas at the Austin Unified School District and the Murphy School District in Phoenix until she retired.
